It's been a lovely day again, here in Scotland. Beautiful sunshine just helps the day go by!
Just to keep my customers up to date. Microsoft are changing how our current website is run, so hence the reason for me planning ahead by migrating to Weebly.com for hosting. It is been easy so far and not quite finished as I have more organising and planning for it to work. On my list for today is signing up to MailChimp to work with our customer subscriptions, now ticked off and done. I don't really mind, to be honest I'm relishing the challenge with all this technology. So far its working out. Yeah! And this evening, the happy dance as I've a regular customer who buys from us on Ebay looking to buy here on the website and it has made my day. ;O) Thanks Felicity! I hope she doesn't mind the name drop... Better get back to it, late night tonight. Cheery Xo

Getting Started.A fellow UK Handmade member asked how to add the Etsy Widget Button? So here is a short tutorial on How To.
Log into your Etsy account, your shop listing will be at the top right hand corner. Go to Your Shop: xxx In the left hand column, you will see a header listed Promote. The link you need to click on is Etsy Mini, go click on it and Etsy will take you straight to this great Widget. Once you've done that, you can start to build your own Etsy Widget Button for your Blog or Website! It asks a few questions, the 1st is - Choose from: Items to Show. - Items from my shop or Items from my favourites I chose Items from my Favourites. When you select your option go onto the next section which is Choose the Image Size. - Thumbnail (75px x 75px) or Gallery (170px x 135px) I chose Gallery as seen in my previous Blogpost below. ;O) Finally Etsy gives you the choice of layout to pick from. These vary in size from 1 Column 1 Row upto the maximum of 5 Columns 5 Rows. The last step is to Paste the Code into your Blog, Store or Website etc. Once you've previewed and you're happy with it, its ready to use right away. Just like that! Good luck and get Etsy Widget working. Cheery Xo While trolling through my list of things to do, on Etsy found a great tool where I can create a button of photographs showing some of my favourite things! It's amazing how simple it was to produce. Have you ever found something like that while surfing the net? Cheery ;O) ... just added Bloglovin and looking to add more followers as a way of improving my writing bits and pieces. I'm so grateful to Charis and Ailsa (both members of UK Handmade) for adding their comments! It's made my weekend so far. This evening has been a little of chilling with a glass of wine and watching "Hanna", which I thought was a good film. To finish off I'm going to discuss "How to Promote Your Blog!". I've been researching for the past few weeks and have come to the conclusion that I need to give my business a VOICE and that blogging is a good way to start, but is that enough? 4 TOP TIPS that I've learnt about recently:- 1. Here lies the rub, not everyone reads BLOGs or COMMENTs so from a Social Media Marketing perspective I've added our links to Facebook and Twitter to entice some FEEDBACK. 2. This evening having just read my fellow BLOGGERS comments, I need to go and spend some time reading through their COMMENTS thus helping me to build relationships. 3. I've taken Charis' comment on board and added BLOGLOVIN as a content feeder to see if anything comes from that, I also plan to add PINTEREST (which I've been using personally for a while now!) to produce a LOOKBOOK for Country House Crafts. 4. Finally to help with SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and good ol' trending will add some visual goodies via YOUTUBE so that my writing isn't bogged down. On that final thought, I bid you a goodnight and see what else the weekend brings. Cheery ;O) X This is a great start to the weekend, by writing up my 1st every Blogpost! I'm grinning from ear to ear while I write this because I believe that writing this will help my audience/customer understanding where I'm coming from.
So any help or advice on great blogging tips would be much appreciated. I look forward to reading them and putting ideas into practice. I hope you don't mind me asking, What are your plans for the weekend? Anything craft related going on? Have a great weekend everyone, catch you all later. ;O) Cheery Xo |
